Mohamed Ali Janah, Principal Advisor to Maldivian President H.E. Mohamed Muizzu on Trade and Investment, and CWEIC’s Country Chair for the Maldives, was recently featured in an interview by Forbes Magazine.
As someone who has played a key role in the transformation of the Maldivian Labour market, he highlights the resilience and adaptability of its workforce in contributing to its success. With the Maldivian government’s active efforts to promote international investment, the country has seen a transition from a fishing-based economy to a luxury tourism destination. Moreover, with his background in logistics and hospitality, Janah highlights the importance of sustainability in construction practices.
Seeing the country’s transformation over the years, Janah endeavours to do more through driving business and investment relationships with the Commonwealth.
He adds: “[The Commonwealth] could be a game changer for the Maldives and open up opportunities in financial services with new employment opportunities for locals and expatriates as well”
