Niro Cooke, Chair of CWEIC’s Sri Lanka hub, took centre stage at the Human Capital Summit 2024, delivering a compelling keynote address that urged the nation to adopt a more forward-thinking approach to talent management.

Participating in a dynamic fireside chat, Cooke steered the discussion through critical topics surrounding the creation of vibrant opportunities for Sri Lankan youth. He posed the thought-provoking question, “We must question whether we are truly fostering a vibrant future for the next generation?” while citing successful homegrown startups like Virtusa and WSO2 as shining examples of the country’s untapped potential.

Cooke concluded the session by drawing attention to the importance of cultivating an investor-friendly environment, articulating a vision aligned with global demands, and fostering mutual trust between investors and entrepreneurs.
Highlighting the current landscape, he remarked, “The recent economic crisis has underscored the urgent need for a paradigm shift, positioning Sri Lanka as a key player in the global, not just local market.”

His insights provided a clear call to action for Sri Lanka’s future on the world stage.
