Rosie Glazebrook, Chief Executive of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC), had an impactful visit to Singapore, where she raised the profile of CWEIC and highlighted opportunities for growing trade and investment in the region.
A key priority for CWEIC is meeting its Strategic Partners, and it was invaluable to hear from Avnish Patnaik of the Confederation of Indian Industry, Harold Pradal, President of BSI Group Assurance Services, and Dr. Michael Yap of Coventry University on how they have expanded their businesses in the region. CWEIC looks forward to supporting their continued growth.
It was also a great honour to meet Mr Jitin Prasada, Honourable Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Ministry of Electronics & IT, Government of India, alongside major Indian businesses such as Tata Consultancy Services, Axis Bank, RELIANCE GLOBAL ENERGY SERVICES LIMITED Singapore), Air India Limited, Adani Group, and India Exim Bank.
CWEIC is excited to progress discussions with Jason L. of the Singapore Business Federation, exploring opportunities for collaboration and supporting members looking to expand into new markets. The possibility of a delegation to the Commonwealth Trade and Investment Summit in London, April 2025, was also discussed. It was a pleasure introducing CWEIC to Andrew Kwan, Vice Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation.
Additionally, it was invaluable to meet His Excellency Nikesh Mehta OBE, UK High Commissioner to Singapore, Martin Kent, HM Trade Commissioner for Asia Pacific, and David Mills of the Singapore International Chamber of Commerce to discuss future opportunities for collaboration.
A special thank you to SUPT (NS)(Retd) Raymond Huang PBB for organising an excellent programme and for his ongoing support as CWEIC Strategic Adviser – Singapore.
