Rank Holdings started in Sri Lanka’s gaming industry 30 years ago and has grown into the country’s largest gaming company. Expanding into Africa 15 years ago, it now operates 10 casinos across the continent.

The company has undertaken major construction projects in Sri Lanka, including highways, buildings, and large-scale infrastructure developments.
Dry Port & Logistics
Rank Container Terminals, a subsidiary of Rank Holdings, opened Sri Lanka’s first dry port in 2009. It is the only container terminal in the country with all necessary state government offices in-house, making it the preferred choice for importers and exporters.

Rank HoldingsMr Ravi Wijeratne completed his tertiary and secondary education at Royal College, Colombo and pursued his higher education at the London School of Accountancy in the United Kingdom. He remained in the United Kingdom for 17 years following his education and embarked on various entrepreneurial property development ventures in the UK.
Mr Wijeratne co-founded the Grayline Group in 1987 which owned and managed the largest fleet of public buses in Sri Lanka at that time. He then entered the Sri Lankan entertainment market purchasing Stardust Casino in 1993 and went on to establish Casino Marina in 2013, the largest Casino in Sri Lanka. Seeing the rapid development of the African continent, Mr Wijeratne expanded the entertainment operation to Africa, starting the first Cassino Marina in Beira, Mozambique. Today Rank Entertainment Holdings owns and operates 9 casinos in 6 African countries.
Mr.Wijeratne also went on to expand Rank Holdings to various industries like dry-land ports, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, construction, agri-business and energy.
Mr Wijeratne, a known risk taker, purchased 64% of SMB Leasing in 2021; one of the leading leasing companies in Sri Lanka, which puts him in the driving seat of the business. Mr Ravi Wijeratne remains keeping a keen eye for future opportunities in Sri Lanka and the region
