FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company

FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company Limited (FIRST E&P) is a leading integrated energy solutions provider with maximum delivery capacity across the upstream oil and gas value chain, including drilling, well completion, well testing, and production operations.

Founded in 2011, FIRST E&P has built a strategic portfolio of upstream and infrastructure assets and has achieved critical milestones through its journey in the Nigeria Oil and Gas Industry. FIRST E&P holds positions in five licenses in Nigeria, including 4.5% in OML 34, 6.75% in OML 71 & 72 and 40% in OML 83 & 85.

As the operator of OMLs 83 & 85 (NNPC Ltd Joint Venture (JV) assets), FIRST E&P achieved first oil production from the Anyala and Madu development in October 2020 and April 2024, respectively. Both fields now produce a combined 57,000 bopd. FIRST E&P’s development of these greenfield assets marked it as the first Nigerian independent to achieve this feat offshore.
FIRST E&P further holds an interest in Renaissance Consortium, the winning bidder for Shell’s 100% shares in SPDC, which operates the SPDC JV which has 18 OMLs in Nigeria.

FIRST E&P is the successful bidder for a block in Ghana, where it is finalising a Petroleum Agreement and continues to invest significantly in exploration and production activities.

FIRST E&P is committed to energy transition in the medium and long term, with plans to supply gas to Sub-Saharan African markets through a midstream gas business set to be fully operational by 2026.
