CWEIC is excited to welcome CAMTEL as the latest Strategic Partner and welcome Judith Yah Sunday epse ACHIDI to the Global Advisory Council.

CAMTEL, short for Cameroon Telecommunications, is the leading telecommunications operator in Cameroon. Established in 1998, it is responsible for setting up and managing the infrastructure needed for electronic communication services under licenses granted by authorities.

Between 2013 and 2017, Judith served as the Secretary General of the governance board of the African Federation of Internal Audit Institutes (AFIA) in Tanzania. Her responsibilities ranged from Vice-President to interim President.

December 2018 marked a historic moment in Cameroon as Judith was appointed as the General Manager of CAMTEL, making her the first Cameroonian woman to hold such a prestigious position in a top-tier public company in Cameroon.

Commenting on the new Strategic Partnership, Judith said: “Camtel’s vision is to be an innovative corporate citizen and leader in digital transformation in sub Saharan Africa by 2030. Thus, Camtel intends to build partnerships with operators and organisations across the African continent and beyond, considering its international activities in the wholesale segment. As a result, any endeavour of CWEIC to enable Camtel extend its footprint through networking, business agreements or project financing in the telecommunications sector in Africa and abroad would be a major step up in the fulfillment of its vision.”
