Commonwealth Legal Network
The Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC),
as the Commonwealth’s accredited business network, has set up the
Commonwealth Legal Network as a high-powered commercial legal network.
Given the increasing importance of the Commonwealth network as a platform for global trade and investment, the benefits of being part of a select group of trusted commercial law firms across the 56 nations of the Commonwealth, all of whom share a similar language, legal systems and values, is clear.
CWEIC’s Legal webinar held in the Autumn of 2020 indicated overwhelming support for a commercial legal network that would provide business referrals, act as a knowledge exchange service through regular meetings and webinars, and strengthen the links between Commonwealth law firms and businesses from the CWEIC network and beyond.
CWEIC hosted the Commonwealth Legal Network’s Inaugural Roundtable for CLN members with the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales in July 2021, and second roundtable discussion with the Lord Mayor of the City of London in December 2021.
All new applications involve a thorough review process by the membership committee of existing members, with all CLN-approved member firms also becoming Strategic Partners of CWEIC.
