With effect from 01 February 2020, the CWEIC Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Samantha Cohen CVO as Chief Executive. Sam was Assistant and Deputy Private Secretary to Her Majesty The Queen for 8 years, after serving as her Press Secretary. Prior to that she worked for various ministers in the Australian Government (the country of her birth). She serves on the Board of the Royal Commonwealth Society. She brings a great understanding of the Commonwealth and we are delighted she is joining us.

The Board would like to thank CWEIC’s outgoing Chief Executive Alan Gemmell OBE for his work over the last year, which has seen a significant increase in membership and new Country Directors in the Caribbean (in partnership with the Government of Cayman), Ghana, Gibraltar (in partnership with the Government of Gibraltar), and Sri Lanka. We look forward to continuing to working closely with Alan.
