Opportunities for growing partnerships and economic growth were top of the agenda during the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) delegation to Abuja, led by our CEO, Rosie Glazebrook. Strategic partners were able to explore new opportunities for investment and engage at the most senior levels of Government. CWEIC looks forward to progressing plans in 2024 and 2025 to use its convening power to galvanise links between the Nigerian business community and Commonwealth partners. Some key engagements in Abuja included:
– The Vice President of Nigeria, HE Kashim Shettima hosted the CWEIC Delegation and promised to create an unprecedented enabling environment for both local and foreign investors to thrive.
– The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission and CWEIC co-hosted the Commonwealth Business and Nigeria Trade and Investment Roundtable. Those participating included CWEIC strategic partners and key stakeholders including from African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, Development Bank of Nigeria, Edo and Kogi State Investment Promotion Agencies and a representative from the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment. The event, sponsored by our Strategic Partner Novare Real Estate Nigeria (Novare Holdings) was a great opportunity to examine how businesses can take advantage of Nigeria’s projected economic growth.
– Site visit to the Novare Holdings Gateway Mall, Lugbe, Abuja which is the largest development in Novare’s portfolio and an impressive development in the consumer infrastructure in Abuja.
– The UK High Commissioner to Nigeria, His Excellency Dr Richard Montgomery CMG welcomed the delegation at his residence to discuss the strong UK-Nigeria relationship.
– Meeting H.E Ambassador Prof. Olufolake Abdulrazaq, the Chairperson of Nigeria Governor Spouses’ Forum.
This visit established strong links and activated new partnerships and CWEIC is grateful for all our Strategic Partners and key stakeholders who joined us in Abuja.
