CWEIC Ghana Hub Supports Launch of The Institute of Export & International Trade Africa Advisory Board Amidst High-Level Engagements

The CWEIC Ghana Hub was pleased to offer support to our Strategic Partner, The Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT), during their recent activities surrounding the launch of the new Africa Advisory Board.

IOE&IT Africa launched in 2023 establishing a permanent office in Nairobi, and the Institute convened the first meeting of its new Africa Advisory Board in Accra, Ghana. Its board includes representatives from our Ghana Hub as well as representatives from other CWEIC Strategic Partners, including Afrexim Bank and Ecom Trading, and Cham Etienne Bama who serves as CWEIC Hub Director – Cameroon, Gabon and Togo

CWEIC also arranged meetings for the Institute with Her Excellency Harriet Thompson, the UK’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Togo, and Benin, as well as Baroness Kate Hoey, the UK trade envoy to Ghana, and supported a celebratory launch for the reception at the British High Commission.

During the press interview conducted on the Institute’s trip to Ghana, Marco Forgione, Director-General, expressed views firmly echoed by our CWEIC Ghana hub: “Ghana is uniquely positioned not because of the geography of stable environment but the aspiration and entrepreneurship that exists in Ghana. So, the Institute of Exports is here to help turn what is potential into reality within the context of AfCFTA (African Continental Free Trade Area) and Ghana can become the spark that ignites what the African continent can achieve,” he added.

The Institute of Export & International Trade was established in 1935 to support UK businesses in growing their international markets and trade.

It is the leading association of exporters and importers that provides education and training to professionalise international traders.
