CWEIC is excited to announce Sanctuary Counsel as new Strategic Partner, and welcome Jonathan McClory to the Global Advisory Council.

Sanctuary Counsel is a boutique advisory firm, providing strategic communications, reputational advice, and timely data-driven insights to companies, professional services firms, family offices, governments, non-profits, and individuals.

Jonathan is a globally recognised expert on soft power, public diplomacy, foreign policy and government relations. Jonathan has advised governments, politicians, NGOs, Foundations, and companies across five continents on matters of reputation, policy, campaigning, and effective global engagement. Before joining Sanctuary Counsel, Jonathan was General Manager for Asia at Portland, where he built up and oversaw the company’s work across Asia Pacific from Singapore.

Jonathan McClory, Partner at Sanctuary Counsel, expressed his enthusiasm about joining CWEIC, stating: “What we at Sanctuary Counsel find so exciting about the Commonwealth is its potential. In recent years it has too often been overlooked, but its members constitute one-third of the world’s population and 60 per cent of that population are under the age of 30. While not a trade bloc, Commonwealth countries enjoy an advantage that translates to lower trade costs between members compared to trade outside of it.
