The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) is the apex trade organization of Bangladesh playing a pivotal role in consultative and advisory capacity, safeguarding the interest of the private sector.
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry was established in 1973 under the Trade Organisation Ordinance and Companies Act, 1913.

President
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI)Mr Mahbubul Alam, a distinguished business leader from Chattogram, Bangladesh, assumed the role of President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) in August 2023. With a career spanning four decades, he is celebrated for his commitment, integrity, and relentless pursuit of excellence.
Mr Alam’s journey began in 1982 when he founded Alam Trading Corporation, a commodity trading venture. His influence quickly grew, leading to his presidency at the Khatunganj Trade and Industry Association. He diversified into nine sectors, creating M Alam Group, with 19 enterprises, 3000 employees, and substantial annual turnover.
His visionary leadership as President of the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) resulted in the construction of the Chittagong World Trade Center and boosted regional trade. Mr Alam also served as the Honorary Consul of Japan, fostering Japanese investments. Additionally, he is a philanthropist and received accolades such as Commercially Important Person (CIP) awards and a Certificate of Merit from the World Customs Organization for his contributions to the industrial sector and international trade.
