Viswajit Palasuntheram has more than 35 years of expertise in a diverse range of sectors. He began his career in the UK property development market, building a £200m portfolio of properties from scratch, as Founder and Chairman of the Ventra Group of companies, which provides specialist knowledge and expertise in the UK property market. The Ventra Group focuses on developing high-end residential and commercial properties as well as social housing solutions. The Group also offers a land acquisition and planning permission service as well as advising on build legislation and implementing design and build.

Vish also remains closely involved in commercial enterprises in Sri Lanka, as board member and investor in two of the country’s leading private enterprises. Oceanpick is Sri Lanka’s first sustainable oceanic fish farm, supplying top quality seafood to international distributors worldwide. The company employs revolutionary fish farming techniques and takes charge of the entire process to ensure the top quality of fish is produced.

Vish is also a key investor and shareholder in Datamation, a private software enterprise in Sri Lanka, which provides sophisticated resource management solutions to more than 200 clients, such as British Airways, Kia Motors, Shangri-La Hotel Group and John Keells Holdings.

Never one to shy away from other areas of investment potential, Vish has also acted as a venture capitalist on a number of other deals, from the food and beverage industry to hospitality and the acquisition of luxury holiday homes worldwide.

An MBA graduate from the UK, Vish is London-based although he travels regularly to Sri Lanka, where he also supports a number of charitable causes in Colombo and Jaffna. Vish was responsible for the design and build of an orphanage in Colombo, which provide a safe and welcoming home for children, with support for their future.
