UK Prime Minister Announces the Launch of New British International Investment (BII) Mobilisation Facility to Boost Private Capital Flow

British International Investment (BII), a Strategic Partner of CWEIC, is to launch a new capital mobilisation facility to unlock private investment in emerging economies. This initiative aims to address the twin challenges of development and the climate emergency by mobilising significant private capital for sustainability-focused projects in regions considered too risky by global investors.

Nick O’Donohoe, BII’s Chief Executive, highlighted the facility’s role in bridging the gap between investors’ risk appetite and the urgent need for capital in emerging economies. The facility will support investments in renewable energy, water, waste-to-energy, and battery storage, while targeting long-term capital sources such as pension funds and asset managers in London.
